Car Accident

Three persons, including a female child, lost their lives in a crash on the Kabba-Okene road on Monday.
The accident involved two vehicles, a Toyota Sienna car with number plate KJA 42 XE and a Ford Galaxy with number plate LSD 141 XJ.
Seventeen other persons sustained varying degrees of injury.
A statement from the Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Godwin Omiko, said the accident which occurred at about 11.35am was caused by a wrong over-taking.
Omiko said 20 people were involved, explaining that the female child , a man and a woman died on the spot.
He said the injured were taken to the General Hospital, Okene, for treatment while the corpses were deposited in the hospital’s morgue.
The sector commander said the accident disrupted traffic flow, but that his men had removed the obstruction and re-opened the road.
