Campus life: UNIJOS registrar dies

The Deputy Registrar in charge of Information and Publications, University of Jos, Mr. Steve Otowo, is dead.

Otowo, 60, died Thursday afternoon at the Jos University Teaching Hospital after a brief illness.

He was said to have died of cardiac arrest.

Family sources told Saturday PUNCH on Friday that he took ill Wednesday night at about 9pm, and was taken to the hospital two hours later.

“He suddenly started coughing and was having problem breathing,” one of his sons, Kenneth, Otowo said, adding, “We thought it was a situation we could handle, but because his condition became worse, we took him to hospital.”
