Chelsea striker Diego Costa has withdrawn from Spain's squad to face Macedonia on Monday, citing a hamstring injury.
Costa struggled as Spain lost to a second-half goal from France's Loic Remy in a friendly on Thursday and it has now been revealed that he had been suffering with a problem in his left leg.
Barcelona youngster Munir El Haddadi will replace Costa in the Spain squad for Group C clash at the Bernabeu.
 
Chelsea's next fixture in a Premier League clash with Swansea at Stamford Bridge on September 13 and Jose Mourinho will be hoping his striker recovers to take his place in the starting XI.
The 25-year-old, who suffered from a hamstring problem at the end of last season while playing for Atletico Madrid, is the leading scorer in the Premier League so far, having netted four times in three appearances.
